Kids' Informal Learning with Digital Media: An Ethnographic Investigation of Innovative Knowledge Cultures

This is a major bit of research from USC and UCBerkley that (amongst other things) suggests that young people "…engage in peer-based, self-directed learning online." It's a fairly hefty bit of reading but even a quick glance suggests we may wish to consider it when thinking about education's future look.
